Job Description

The CCR Operator is responsible for operating the plant’s kilns and mills, monitoring production processes and making the necessary adjustments to maintain optimum operating conditions.

CCR Operator Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Operating kilns and mills to ensure the plant runs within the required operating parameters.
• Maintaining production log sheets and ensuring recorded data is accurate.
• Preparing daily production reports.
• Participating in production-related activities, including cleaning, firefighting, special tests and refractory work.
• Operating the plant according to daily instructions and monitoring the production process.
• Making process adjustments when required to maintain optimum operating parameters.
• Communicating abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor.
• Obtaining feedback from the laboratory regarding product quality.
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements and relevant company and statutory regulations.
• Following applicable environmental policies and regulations.
• Complying with the Heidelberg Materials Group Code of Business Conduct, Compliance Policies and Guidelines.
• Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements for CCR Operator

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• A BSc in Chemical and Processing Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least one year of experience in cement operations or an equivalent industry.
• Basic understanding of maintenance requirements.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Good knowledge of safety procedures.
• Ability to organize the work of the section.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Logical thinking and the ability to perform duties in a timely manner.
• Professional registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) or an equivalent professional body.
